In the name of God,Amen. I Elijah Lucas of Scott County and State of Kentucky being in loe(sic) State of health but of sound mind in memory and knowing it is appointed unto all men to die doe(sic) make this my last will and testament First I recommend my soul to God who gave it and my body to be buried in decent manner and as it has been please God to bless me with a large family and some property I wish to dispose of it in the following manner. I leave all my property both personal and real estate to my wife Peggy her life time and wish herto give the children as they come of age or marry of such property as she can spare or as she sees that they need and as some of them has married and has received some property say(sic) Malinda has received about one hundred dollars worth Polly Boyce has received about fifty dollars worth Loas(sic) Patterson has received about ten dollars worth Elizabeth Reasor has received about one hundred dollars worth Nancy Perry has received about one hundred dollars worth William received fifty dollars worth Elijah has received fifty dollars worth Stephen has received fifty dollars worth and further it is my will that my wife shall not give securiy for any of her performances but at her death every one of my children jto have an equal part of all that I possess. Given under my hand and seal this 16th May one thousand eight hundred and forty three.

I Granville Lucas of the County of Scott and State of
Kentucky being diseased in body but
sound and disposing of mind
and memory do make and publish this my last will and testament.
1st It is
my wish that my mother Margaret Lucas have six hundred dollars to purchase a
negro woman with the money to be left in the hands of my uncle Samuel Moore to
make the purchase with.
2nd It is
further my wish that my sister Polly Boice and her children have ten acres of
land where she now lives. The line
to commence on the hill so as to include the ten acres.
3rd It is
further my will that my sister Elizabeth Reasor and her children have ten acres
of land adjoining that of my sister Boice lying south of said land.
4th The
balance of the hundred acres I wish to be equally divided between my other
sisters.
5th It is
my wish that my brothers Eliza Lucas and Stephen Lucas have my Osburne farm.
6th
It is further my wish that
my brother William Lucas have five hundred dollars in money as soon as
collected.
7th
It is my wish that my sister Nancy Perry have my gold watch.
8th It is
my wish that a good substantial stone wall thirty feet square and five feet
high be built around the grave yard and a tombstone over my grave.
It is further my wish that if there should not be a
sufficiency of money collected that Eliza and Stephen shall pay th amount that
is lacking And I do hereby appoint
my Uncle Samuel Moore and my brother Eliza Lucas Executors to carry this
my last will and testament into effect.
In testimony whereof I
hereunto set my hand and seal this 22nd day of February eighteen hundred and
forty four.
