Notes from visit of Nola McKnight, Holly Chrestmans and Lee McKnight on Wednesday, September 3, 2003 to Hickman, Kentucky. We drove first to Dyersburg, Tennessee where we had lunch with a high school friend of Mom's in Dyersburg, Mary Martha Underwood. After that we drove to Hickman, Kentucky to try and find where Mom's original home was. All my life I have heard about this home which burned down when Mom was about 10 years old... it was the house on the hill.

Jack Gannon - True Value Hardware Store owner we talked to in Hickman. Mr. Gannon is CEO of the TENNKEN company that owns the railroad track that runs 51 miles from Hickmany, Kentucky to Dyersburg, Tennessee. Mr. Gannon got us in touch with the Mayor of Hickman who Mom called and talked with.

Waudell Yarbro is the Mayor of Hickman who Mom talked to on the telephone. He was able to through her descriptions help her locate where the elementry school she went to is, now a funeral home. He also helped her locate the hill where the Campbell's home was. At the time Mom's father and mother owned a few acres. Now there are a group of homes clustered on that hill.
