As you can see Daniel actually enlisted two different times , he was held prisioner in Illinois, was released.

Daniel told his Children and Grandchildren that he was 14 years old when he enlisted, and when it came crop planting time he would go home help make a crop and go back in the army, there fore there is one record here of his awol, two enlistments and his being held prisoner by the union army.
